Automatic system for enterprise management SAP R/3

Since January 1996, the integrated system R/3 by SAP Company (Germany) based on RISC/6000 IBM, operational system AIX, ORACLE data base, version 4.6C started to function on Donetsk metallurgical plant.

The main motives to buy it were following features, characterizing this product:

  • wide functionality;
  • all business-process integration;
  • modular principle of construction, which provides isolated usage of different system components , and also a combination of the components, dictated by production needs;
  • transparent calculation, which means ,that each economic operation, completed in system, finds its reflection in calculation system( business accounting, production costs calculation);
  • independence from concrete sub-unit ;
  • transparency, possibility to form own soft programs in a system environment;
  • language support;
  • protocol users access to the system, depending on their concrete authorities;
  • up to date technology, based on client/server architecture
  • system can be adjusted to concrete business easily, and it is open for changes during all exploitation life

Brief description of R/3 system components throughout modules in use includes:

FI - financial accounting and book keeping system:

  • main accounts keeping- main account forming, accounts planning, history of account changes; data on accounts turnover during each financial year and throughout each sub-unit in local and foreign currency; financial year closure; automatic balance accounts re-valuation in foreign currency; forming of the main book and standard reports for the book-keeping
  • debit and credit accounting- outgoing and incoming payment operations, advance payment processing, bill of exchange book-keeping, payment effecting, forming of standard reports for debit-credit balance book-keeping and analytic reports for the sub-units;
  • service functions- main data re-organization, balance transfer

AM - AA – main funds accounting - main data, property of the plant by main funds classes, book-keeping accounting of funds wear, main funds discarding, receipt and transfer of the main funds by enterprise’s sub-units, tax accounting of the main funds.

CO – controlling, expanses registration by the points they appeared, types of the expanses, distribution and apportionment of the expanses by plan and by fact (calculation of planned and actual cost):

  • calculation of the main mechanic shops (orders calculation) and department of main energetic( calculation of the actual cost of services being done);
  • open hearth and blast furnace shop calculation;
  • capital construction costs accounting
  • current repair costs accounting

MM - store managing

  • buying, forming and processing of orders to supply;
  • materials moving, billing, and valuation
  • automatic operative forming of receipts on main materials and scrap supply acts, invoices for scrap issuing;
  • standard reports on store managing for accountancy and plant’s sub-units;
  • Forming reports on stores provision, stores turnover, stores cost, unused and long term stores.

SD - sale:

  • forming of the client’s main data, from the sale functions point;
  • contracts and trade orders running, price policy forming by clients in different currencies;
  • materials classifier creating for the ready product;
  • Order forming for the products being loaded and trade order control.

PP - production planning. This module functions only in blast furnace and steel-casting production:

  • store needs planning, forming of the planned technological orders, operative input of the materials consumption for the technological order (cast), registration of the blast furnace and open-hearth furnace production, operative cast calculation by grade, by group of grades, by shop, by way of cast, forming of the actual month calculation by the same issues is done within this module;
  • operative forming of the analytical reports on materials consumption by cast, by grade, by group of grades, by cast time and by technological operations.

Two-levels structure of the information base(upper level- main data and applications servers in Data-processing center; lower level –clients places in the plant’s sub-units), allows to provide efficiency and reliability of the information ,basing on which, you can take decisions on how to manage the business-processes of the plant.
